Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 (“FACT Act” or “FACTA”, Pub.L. 108–159)

United States federal law passed FACTA as an amendment to the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Among other things, FACTA allows consumers to obtain a free credit report every twelve months from reporting agancies; it also contains provisions dealing with identity theft and provisions on the disposal of consumer information.
