On January 13, 2015, President Obama announced a New Cybersecurity Legislative Proposal and other cybersecurity efforts.
The proposal – which the Congress will evaluate – increases the prosecution of cybercrimes and toughen penalties for them. It also encourages cybersecurity information sharing and proposes one federal statute for data breach reporting.
